Jerry Floyd Smith

Jerry Floyd Smith, age 79, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  He was born May 30, 1939, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, the son of Glen and Fern (Hutchins) Pace.
Jerry was a United States Army Veteran and was a technician for All Year Heating and Cooling in Mt. Vernon and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Eagles Club.
On April 3, 1961, he married Shirley Evatt in Columbus, Kansas.
Jerry is survived by his wife, of 58 years Shirley; two daughters, Teresia Biellier and her husband, Rick, of Mt. Vernon and Kathy Schodde of Nixa, Missouri; three grandchildren, Scott Biellier and his wife, Trisha, of Verona, Missouri, Stacie Hill and her husband, Brad, of Republic, Missouri and David Griffith and his wife, Katlin, of Clever, Missouri; five great- grandchildren, Nevaeh, Olivia, Ryker, Connor and Alyssa; two sisters, Artie Rogers and her husband, Walt, of Bedias, Texas and Glenda Bray of Joplin, Missouri;
His parents, Glen and Fern, one sister, Kate Sloan, and three brothers, Irvin, Ron and Bill Smith, preceded him in death.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole St, Springfield, Missouri 65804.
