Jerry L. Daniel

Jerry L. Daniel, 75, of Purdy, passed away Dec. 15, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer.
Daniel was born March 12, 1943, in Barry County to the late Oral Lee Daniel and Marzell Lucille (Stockton) Daniel. Daniel graduated from Purdy High School with the class of 1960. He then furthered his education by completing the Graduate School of Banking. Throughout his life, he was a banker, auctioneer, farmer and most importantly a friend to everyone he knew. Daniel served his country honorably by serving in the Missouri National Guard.
Rodeo was a lifelong passion of his. In his earlier years he enjoyed riding and roping, then as years passed, he loved watching and attending rodeos. Additionally, he enjoyed auctioneering and the special friendships he made along the way.
Daniel is survived by: daughter, Mary (Jerrod) Gray of Monett; three grandchildren; honorary son and daughter, Dusty and Jacque Essick; and honorary grandchildren of Highlandville; as well as a host of friends.
Graveside services were held Dec. 18, 2018, at Sparks Cemetery, east of Butterfield. Memorials may be made to the Purdy High School FFA, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
