Jerry Richard Dierker

Jerry Richard Dierker, 78, of Monett passed away March 20, 2021. He was born on Sept. 18, 1942 in Granby, son of the late Lloyd and LaVerna (Wanner) Dierker. He was married to Virginia (Ballay) on Dec. 28, 1963 and they shared 52 years together until her passing in 2016.
Dierker is survived by his daughter, Kristen Leathers (Michael) Gratton; his son, Brett (Amy) Dierker (MacArthur); six grandchildren; one great-grandchild as well as several nephews, a niece and cousins.
The majority of his life was spent in Monett. He owned Dierker Construction, retired from the Missouri National Guard 203rd Engineering Battalion after 24 years, served as Monett City Commissioner for over 20 years, coached little league and pony league baseball, and was active in the St. Lawrence Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Monett. Father Rahab Isidor will be officiating. Interment and military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Rosary will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Friends may also pay their respects from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
