Brad’s named Business of Year, Country Roads named New Member of Year
Around 200 people made tracks to the annual Mt. Vernon Area Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday night at the MARC. The well-attended event was an opportunity to recognize area leaders, not only in business but throughout the community, all while enjoying a dinner by Maggie Mae’s.
Landing the most noteworthy award on the evening was Jerry Burrus, honored for his numerous volunteer duties, with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Chamber also awarded Business of the Year to Brad’s True Value and New Member of the Year to Country Roads Family Fun Farm.
Additionally, Golden Apple Awards went out to Tom Cox, Johnny Stirewalt and Dr. William Lewis McKay.
Several area students were also recognized for outstanding scholastic efforts.
“It was a packed house as the chamber celebrated students, community and business in the Mt. Vernon area,” said Chamber Executive Director Pam Dudley. “Coming off the year with the highest percentage member growth of southwest Missouri Chambers has our group fired up to reach new goals for 2020. We would like to congratulate the winners, it’s so encouraging to recognize great achievements.”
