JOHN CALVIN JONES

John Calvin Jones, 88, of Greenfield, passed away on Oct. 15. He was a resident of Lake Stockton Healthcare for the past six months. John was born Nov. 28, 1933, to Emerson and Veda (Vineyard) Jones of Aurora. John was the youngest of five children.
He attended elementary and high school in Aurora. He graduated from Missouri School of Mines (Missouri University of Science and Technology) with a degree in electrical engineering. After graduation, he went to work for IBM and had a successful career working on the design of computers and in management for 29 years.
Until his health began to decline, he was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Veda Jones; wife, Joyce Jones; daughter, Deborah Jones; brother, Eugene Jones; and sisters, Mary Coleman and Lois Kerr.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie; son, John Jones, Jr. and wife Sheila, of Springfield.; daughters, Tiffany Platek and Mindy Jones of McDonald, OH and sister, Virginia Keatts of Golden City; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at Main Street Baptist Church. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
