Joseph Claud Cocannouer
Joseph Claud Cocannouer, 81, of Miller, passed away Oct. 10, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Aurora. He was born Sept. 16, 1938, in Bishop, Calif., the son of Ernest and Thelma (Hartshorn) Cesprini.
Cocannouer was a 1957 graduate of Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, Calif. and was a United States Army veteran. He was a salesman for Four States Supply in Joplin and a member of the Round Grove Baptist Church. In 1958, he married Judy Gay Duke, in Bakersfield, Calif. She preceded him in death in 2014.
Cocannouer is survived by: son, Sean Cocannouer and his fiancé, Lisa Layton, of Monett; daughters, Shari (Larry) Benbrook of South Greenfield and Sherie (Jason) Thrasher of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and son, David Cocannouer.
A visitation under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon was held from Oct. 14, 2019, at the Round Grove Baptist Church with a funeral service that followed. Burial followed at the Round Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made payable to the Mt. Vernon Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
