Joyce Ann McCoy

Joyce Ann McCoy, age 83, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, due to complications of Covid-19.  She was born January 24, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Rudolph and Olga (Wesner) Krause.
Joyce was a 1955 graduate of Vallejo High School in Vallejo, California.  At a young age of 16, Joyce lost her parents.  With this loss, she was determined to show her family the importance of what love is and what the meaning of family is.  Joyce met the love of her life in 1955.  After four months of dating, she married Kenneth McCoy Sr. on February 6, 1955.  In this union they had five children.  In 1971, Kenneth and Joyce moved their family to Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Joyce was a homemaker and spent her life taking care of her family.  She was a smart lady with quick wit who didn’t miss a thing.  She was an amazing cook and seamstress.  She had a tremendous amount of faith who loved to read and was an active member in her home church, Northside Baptist, of Mt. Vernon.  She prided herself in family activities from barbeques in the summer, to family dinners every Sunday after church.
Faith and love are the foundation in which Joyce taught her family.  These are the values that will be continuously passed along to each of her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great grandkids.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth McCoy Sr, of the home; two sons, Kenneth McCoy Jr. and his wife, Missy of Miller, Missouri and Alan McCoy and his wife, Christine of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; three daughters, Linda Marsh and her husband, Dennis, Patricia Bieber and her husband, Mike, and Sandra Campbell all of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; three sisters, Eunice Berry and her husband, Ed, and Carol Neely and her husband, Carlton, all of Hixon, Tennessee and Dorothy Smith of Napa, California and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Olga, her granddaughter Tracy Bieber, her son-in-law, Daniel Campbell, two brothers, Jimmy, and Rudy Krause, and three sisters, Shirley Jarratt, Lois Williams, and Elenor Burbrink.
A memorial service for Joyce will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
