KARL WILLIAM BROOKS, JR.

Karl William Brooks, Jr., age 87, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his home. He was born June 12, 1935, in Norwalk, Ohio, the son of Karl William and Mary Ellen (Bilger) Brooks Sr.
 
Karl was a 1953 graduate of Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Ohio, and was a small engine mechanic. He liked airplanes and motorcycles and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
 
On December 23, 1988, he married Wyona Mae Porter, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
 
Karl is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wyona; his children, Ellen and Carl Ferch, Karen Scheid, Marlon Brooks, Greg Brooks and Lisa Brooks; stepchildren, Jonna Jenkins, Sheryl Witt and Jim Adams; siblings, David Brooks and Barbara Biellier; twelve grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
 
Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Mary; son, Geoffrey Brooks; daughter, Dianne Boyd and two siblings, Dorothy and Paul.
 
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Walnut Grove, Missouri.
