Kathleen Marie (Metlach) Younker, 92, of Monett passed away on Nov. 26, 2023, at Aurora Nursing Home, following a short illness. She was born on Sept. 4, 1931 in Pierce City, the daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret (Diebold) Mettlach.
She graduated from Pierce City High School class of 1949. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the St. Lawrence Alter Society (PCCW).
On May 28, 1949, she married Willmer Clayton Younker in Pierce City, they were married 73 years before his passing in December of 2022.
She is survived by one son, David Younker of Monett; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, David (Margo) Mettlach of Aurora and Dennis Mettlach of Wentworth; six sisters, Eleanor Johnson of Kansas City, Ann Marrs of Monett, Beatrice Dalton of Kansas City, Mary Jenkins of Independence, Dorothy (Ted) Fischer of Omaha, Neb. and Charlene (Wayne) Hubbard of Springfield; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy B. Younker; one daughter, Annette Younker; and one brother, James Mettlach.
Visitation and rosary were held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, and a funeral mass was held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Rahab Isidor officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Lawrence Catholic School. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
