KEITH MELVIN PREWETT

Keith Melvin Prewett, 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Aurora on Monday, January 16, 2023. Keith was born July 8, 1955, in Montrose, Colorado, the son of George Melvin and Winita Prewett.
Keith graduated from Marionville High School in 1973 and completed his bachelor’s degree from SMSU in 1977. Keith was an MFA plant food manager in Aurora until his retirement in 2017.
Keith loved his family and was especially proud of his daughters and their families. He was often sharing stories and texting pictures of his 4 grandchildren. Keith was a dear son and brother, stopping by nearly every morning to visit and check on his mother. Keith enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and being outdoors. Keith was a charter member of the Aurora coffee club, meeting regularly with his dear friends to discuss and solve city, community, world problems, and more importantly, to care for one another.
Keith was predeceased by his father.
Surviving family includes his mother, Winita Prewett of Aurora; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Eric Custer of Aurora; daughter and son-in-law, Jessie and Philip Hopper of Springfield, Missouri; sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Guy Woodland of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Reese Custer, Henry Hopper, George Hopper, and Joni Hopper; niece Millie Woodland and her son, Owen; nephew Connor Woodland and wife Kate Pollard; uncle Robert and Aunt, Frances Prewett of Florissant, Missouri; aunt Yvonne Younger of Birch Tree, Missouri; and numerous other cousins and extended family members. Keith lived and worked all of his adult life in Aurora, Missouri, leaving behind many dear friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the Aurora Community Center, 40 West Church Street, Aurora, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to share a meal and fellowship.
Keith loved and supported the work of St. Jude’s Children’s hospital as he believed all children should receive excellent care without the burden of medical expenses. In lieu of flowers, a gift to St. Jude’s would make Keith happy.
