Kelsy Kelly Conard

Kelsy Kelly Conard, 37, of Wentworth, passed away at his home May 29, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Conard was born in Osceola, June 23, 1982. He was the son of Tim Conard and Beckie (Shively) Conard. He married Chelsea Sunby on Sept. 28, 2013. He graduated from Monett High School in 2001. While in high school, he was a member of the wrestling team and FFA. After graduating from high school, he enlisted and served in the Army from 2001-2008. He served two terms in Iraq as a Staff Sergeant MP and was trained to be a sniper. After serving in the Army, he attended Crowder College where he became a certified diesel mechanic. He was an entrepreneur. He and Chelsea owned Conard Truck Service, LLC and Pro Foam, LLC.
Surviving are the following: wife, Chelsea of Wentworth; son, Mason of the home; daughter, Maelee of the home;  father, Timothy (Nancy) Conard of Holden; mother, Beckie Conard; and step-father, Ron Schmidt of Pierce City; sister, Jessica Reynolds of Holden; his paternal grandad, Leroy Conard of Osceola; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Tamra Sunby of Monett; sister-in-law, Nicole Sunby of St. Peters; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandma, Peggy Conard; maternal grandparents, Rev. Merlin Shively and Bessie Shively; maternal step-grandparent, Bonnie Shively; and two brothers-in-law, Cody Sunby and Jared Reynolds.
Conard has been cremated at his request. There will be a celebration of life service scheduled by the family at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City. Online condolences may be made to the family at
