Kenneth Volney Sutherland

Kenneth Volney Sutherland, 72, of Verona, passed away Oct. 5, 2019, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Calhoun, Ga., the son of Amos and Dixie (Griffin) Sutherland.
Sutherland was a 1965 graduate of Aurora High School and attended Georgia Tech. He was the office manager and dispatcher for Kay Concrete for 23 years. He was an avid coon hunter, gun collector and wood carver. He attended the Church of Christ.
He is survived by: sisters, Betty (Larry) Walker of Verona, Carol (Harvey) Shepard of Reavisville, Elaine (Pat) Ferguson of Pierce City and Jo (Larry) Jordan of Aurora; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Gaylene Saunders; and brother, Harry Sutherland.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, was held Oct. 9, 2019, at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
