Despite rumors of Miller volleyball being diminished, they dominated at the Verona Invitational Tournament for a seventh straight year as they went 6-0 without losing a single set.

The Lady Cardinals opened the tournament with a  2-0 sweep of Southwest, 25-9 and 25-10. Next up was Thomas Jefferson, and the Lady Cardinals were just as dominant, 25-12 and 25-15.
Miller's toughest matchup of the day was against Greenfield, as the Lady Wildcats scored 23 in the second set but Miller still won in two sets, 25-12 and 25-23. Miller concluded pool play with a 25-9 and 25-10 sweep of host Verona.
All six starters were standouts, as seniors Haylie Schnake,  Emberlyn Kingsley, Addison Stockton, Lillie Ricketts and Rose Hill along with freshmen Rachel Nunez and Ashlyn Helton were fantastic in all aspects of the game, including at the net where there were plenty of questions.
Miller defeated Galena 25-17 and 25-5 in the semifinals. They then dismantled Marionville in the championship match, 25-16 and 25-12.
The Miller volleyballers were scheduled to be back in action Tuesday, as they were set to hang a banner commemorating the 2021 state championship game, along with one more surprise announcement. They wrap up the week with a trip to El Dorado Springs on Thursday.
