Lady Mt’neer ballers sweep week against Big 8 rivals

The Lady Mt’neers have really figured something out after a brutal start to the year and they have carried the success into Big 8 play. Last week, they had the chance to continue the roll. Continue that roll they did as they hosted Logan-Rogersville on Monday. Mt. Vernon overcame a slow start and defeated the Lady Wildcats 48-37. They followed up that win with a convincing 61-38 win Tuesday at Reeds Spring, before the snow hit which ended their week 2-0.
The pair of wins move the Lady Mt’neers to 10-8 for the season. They opened play this week with a road trip to Aurora on Monday and will return home Thursday against Springfield Catholic.

The boys earned another win Saturday when the Clever Blue Jays came to town. Mt. Vernon’s Kai Brown and company was able to soar to a 55-41 win. The victory moves the Mt’neers to 3-16 for the year. They returned to the court Tuesday against Marshfield and will host Springfield Catholic Friday at 7:30 p.m.
