Lady Mt’neers golf takes fifth at State

The Lady Mt’neers took fifth on the links in the state golf meet shooting a 797 in last week’s championships.
The Lady Mt’neers shot a 388 on the first day but struggled on day two shooting a 409. Osage won the team portion of the state meet shooting a 704.
Mt. Vernon junior Madi Phillips led the way for the Lady Mt’neers, shooting a 181 for the two days, finishing 13th overall after surging up the leaderboard with an 87 on day two. Four-time state qualifier and senior Kenadi Killingsworth shot 92 both days and finished with a respectable 18th place finish with a 184.
The next Lady Mt’neer was Emily Schubert who shot a 205 finishing 40th and Courtnee Bishop finished 69th after shooting a 227.
