Lady Mt’neer sophomore Addie Hall drives the lane and lays a soft pull up off the glass in Mt. Vernon’s loss against Neosho. Hall was the lone bright spot in what was a tough game for the Lady Mt’neers, scoring 19 points.

The Mt. Vernon Lady Mt’neers struggled to get things going in a very competitive Carl Junction Classic taking eighth place in this year's tournament.
The Lady Mt’neers opened the season with a big win over Joplin last week, and looked to build on the momentum gained from that win. The draw was not a friendly one for the Lady Mt’neers as they got to take on 6A Springdale out of Arkansas. After a 54-37 loss where the young Lady Mt’neers competed with the much bigger Lady Bulldogs, Mt. Vernon took on Neosho. The Lady Mt’neers struggled taking care of the ball and beating Neosho’s full court pressure, and fell to the Lady Wildcats 66-38. The week concluded with a 54-35 loss to Big 8 foe Seneca.
The Lady Mt’neers move to 1-3 on the year with their Big 8 conference opener Tuesday as they host the Cassville Lady Wildcats.
