Lady Mt'neers seeing progress on new dugouts

Several employees from Meirick Construction volunteered their time to help with the pouring and spreading of the concrete. Rost Concrete Construction donated the 9-1/2 yards of concrete needed for the slabs for both dugouts. (Photo submitted)

The Lady Mt’neers dugouts are starting to see progress. On Friday, Jan. 27 the project took a huge step forward when both slabs were poured for the new dugouts. Rost Concrete Construction out of Marshfield donated 9-1/2 yards of concrete for the project and several volunteers including some from Meirick Construction LLC donated their time to help pour and spread the concrete. The next stage of the project, the concrete block walls, is due to hopefully begin in the next couple weeks.
The project, which is funded solely by local donations and volunteers was approved by the City Council during their December meeting.
If you would like to donate to or help with the project, contact Matt Schubert at Mt. Vernon High School for more information.
The Lady Mt’neers kick off their Spring season as they host their jamboree on March 10.
