LANNY ROSS ALDRIDGE

Lanny Ross Aldridge, 88, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Son of Samuel Ellis and Gertie Elizabeth (Smith) Aldridge, he was born on Aug. 19, 1934, in Monett. On April 3, 1955, he married Frances Lorene Haworth; she preceded him in death on March 17, 1998. He married Ruth Owens, and she passed away on Jan. 25, 2019.
He graduated from Monett High School in 1952.  He and his brother owned and operated Lucky 7 Café in Monett. He was a Sheriff’s Special Deputy and a member of the Barry County Sheriff’s Posse.
Survivors include two sons, Benny Aldridge and his wife Rachel, and Denny Aldridge, and one daughter, Lora Terry and her husband Dale, all of Purdy; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, J.H. Aldridge, of Monett; two sisters, Juanita Gold and Louella Calton, both of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wives and parents, Lanny was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Ray Aldridge, four brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Gunter Methodist Church with burial at Gunter Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in honor of Lanny may be made to the Gunter Cemetery and entrusted to White Funeral Home & Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
