Leroy “Pete” Blalock

Leroy “Pete” Blalock, 86, of Monett passed away July 8, 2021 while at Solace House in Joplin.
Blalock was born on Dec. 3, 1934 in Cassville son of the late Arthur and Mary Ellen (Gasway) Blalock. Blalock was a graduate of Exeter High School. He drove a truck for Emerson Electric, retiring after 30 years.
On Sept. 14, 1957 in Monett, Leroy “Pete” Blalock married Imogene Peterson. To this union, one daughter was born. They were blessed with almost 59 years until her passing on June 26, 2016.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Kenney, of Monett; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons, Wesley and Jacob Kenney and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Blalock was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Raymond Blalock and Leon Blalock and sisters, Virginia Williams, Corene Williams and Cordella Ledbetter.
Graveside services were held July 12, 2021 at the Spring River Cemetery in Verona. Memorials have been requested to the Solace House in Joplin in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
