Linda Darlene Wiehe

Linda Darlene Wiehe, 73, of Stotts City, MO, went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2018, while sleeping peacefully. Born at home in rural Lawrence County, MO, on November 22, 1944, Linda was the oldest of six children born to Martin and Erna Schoen. Linda is survived by her mother Erna Schoen, her brothers Dale and Dwayne Schoen, as well as her sisters Louanna Chapman and Dian Luffman. She is also survived by her son Richard Wiehe, his wife Loretta, their daughters Jessica and Michaela, and their son Mark Croucher, his wife Heather, and their son Zeke. In addition, Linda is survived by her daughters Christine Wiehe and Stacie Presley as well as Stacie’s husband Anthony and their children Lauren, Cooper, Katelynn, Logan, Ryder and Mia.  Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles Wiehe, her daughter Shelly Wiehe, her brother Kelvin Schoen, and her father Martin Schoen.
Linda graduated from Mt Vernon High School in 1962 and married Charles Wiehe on October 25, 1963. She spent much of her life working with him on the family farm. She and Charles enjoyed square dancing and spending time with family and friends. In 1995, the couple’s life was forever altered following an aneurysm in Charles’ brain stem. In addition to being Charles’ care giver Linda worked at the Spring River Turf Farm until her retirement in 2014. Linda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and in recent years was able to fulfil her dreams of traveling to Alaska and Hawaii.
Services to celebrate Christ’s victory over death and His gift of grace to Linda was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, MO. Reverend Jake Sletten officiated. She was laid to rest in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family received friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. In memory of Linda, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
