Local FFA’ers qualify for upcoming state competition

Lawrence County FFA students have been busy this year attending debates, meetings and competitions. On March 24, 27 and 28, they gathered in Springfield to take part in district competitions. Hundreds of students combined from area schools attended the competition. The following students placed at districts and qualified to advance to the state competition which will be held on April 20-21 in Columbia.
Aurora FFA-
Floriculture Team- fifth place (Kyrstin Gold - second high individual, Lexie Burch and Jaydn Rohlman); Entomology Team- eighth place (Luke Miller- ninth high individual, Damari Valenciano, Jaelyn Ernest and Caymen Cornelison); Nursery/Landscaping Team- eighth place- (Levi Garrett- 15th high individual, Castle Spieker, Madelyn Winchell and Emilee Coffey); Agronomy Team- 11th place (Karina Lopez, Marisol Castillo and Darian Dummit); and the Dairy Cattle Team- 16th place (Isabella Collins, Jaysa Ernest and Trenton Lopez). The following qualified as state alternates: Extemporaneous Speaking- silver rating (Taylor Lauffer) and Poultry Team- silver rating (Orran Cope, Taylor Lauffer and Rylee Murray)

Monett FFA-
Horse Judging Team- sixth place (Julissa Villa- second high individual, Abby Long, Kalli Hohensee and Jayden Hohensee).
Mt. Vernon FFA-
Ag Issues Team- District Champions (Lilly Burk, Rylee Flagoelle, Owen Lehman, Matthew Jones, Payton Jones, Zerrik Pham and Aubree Rogerson); Nursery Landscape Team- second place (Emily Fox-second individual, Miriam Fox-seventh individual, David Fox-17th individual and Jaden Kultgen 11th individual); Division 1 Speaking- third place- Emily Fox; Division 2 Speaking- third place- Raegan Pendleton; Ag Mechanics Team- seventh place (Craig Schnake- fifth individual, Colton Aleshire, Gavin Johnston and Tanner Lutes); Farm Business Management- eighth place (David Fox, Miriam Fox, Emily Fox and Jaden Kultgen); Agronomy Team- 12th place (Lindsay McDonald, Ryleigh Misemer, Jace Wilks, McKaylan McIntire, and Rylee Shae); Meats Team- 10th place (Sean Orr, Cody Simmons, Jude Otaru and Madison Cowles). The following team qualified as an alternate to state: Conduct of Chapter Meetings Team- 5th alternate to state (Jayden Stockton, Liam Hanson, Gavin Mace, Eevie Jones, Carson Atwood, McKenzie Weston, Myah Niemeyer and Clayton Hawks).
