Longtime Lawrence County Record reporter Henderson passes on at 74

Rosemary Henderson, a decades-long reporter for the Lawrence County Record passed away last week at the age of 74, after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Henderson, a resident of Aurora, was a voracious reader with a relentless curiosity, which led to her employment as a librarian in her early professional years. Eventually entering the newspaper field, she spent the last 40 years of her career delivering news to readers of the Lawrence County Record as a reporter, mainly handling obituaries and legals. Henderson retired from her Record duties in May of 2016, for a well-deserved time of rest and relaxation in Aurora.
Throughout her life, Henderson was engaged civically and active in her community. She not only served on the Aurora volunteer fire department, but also served multiple terms on the Aurora City Council.
Henderson was a member of the Mt. Vernon First Presbyterian Church, where she will be greatly missed by the congregation.
