Margaret “Margy” Stewart

Margaret “Margy” Stewart, age 87, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 8:31 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at her home following a battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  She is survived by her husband of 65 years Bobby G Stewart.
Margy worked for the Aurora School District for 36 years and was well loved by all who knew her.  Margy sincerely loved her years working for the Aurora School system.  She treasured the many friendships she had with her fellow secretaries, faculty, staff, principals, superintendents, and all the school board members she supported.  The highlight of her job was getting to know the students that walked the halls of AHS.
Margy was an unbelievable cook, seamstress and gardener.  There wasn’t a recipe she couldn’t master, and every dinner ended with a homemade dessert.  She created many Halloween costumes and cherished Christmas stockings, tree skirts and ornaments.  Her all-time favorite pastime was spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids.  What happened at Marmar’s house stayed at Marmar’s house!  They loved solving puzzles together; when they were difficult enough, she would even frame them & hang them on the wall.
Being an avid St Louis Cardinals fan, she never missed watching or listening to a game, preferably from her porch swing on their patio.
Margy was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and above all friend.  She will be forever missed.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Stewart (Debbie) and Mike Stewart (Dorothy) of Aurora, Missouri; one daughter, Jerry Hodge (Beau) of Raleigh, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Jaime McKinley (Brad) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Dylan Stewart (Breann) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dustin Stewart (Jenna) of Overland Park, Kansas, Samantha Spencer (Austin) of Chicago, Illinois, Cait Meganck (Jeremy) of Durham, North Carolina and Trista Kell (Chris) of Aurora, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren, Marley, Preston and Quincey McKinley, Porter and Tilly Stewart, Ella and Adalee Stewart, Arthur Spencer and Gibson and Harlow Kell; one sister, Dorothy Miller of St. Louis, Missouri; five brothers, John Miller (Sue) of Dallas, Texas, Laurence Miller (Barbara) of Chicago, Illinois, Jim Miller (Kathi) of Chicago, Illinois, Robert Miller of Verona, Missouri and Don Miller (Peggy) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Margy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy (Gripka) Miller; three brothers, Charles, Richard, and Jerry and two sisters, Virginia Baker and Shirley Miller.
A celebration of Margy’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora with visitation to follow at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Margy’s caregivers, Diana & Renee.
