Mary Louise Grissom

Mary Louise Grissom was born in Mt. Vernon, to the late Harris and Blanche Lucille Garringer on Aug. 24, 1945. She passed away Nov. 14, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She married Gene Allen Grissom Feb. 18, 1943, followed by 52 years. She was a devoted member of St. Susanne’s Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by: her daughter Glenda DeYoung Blevins of Mt. Vernon; grandsons Richard Andrew (Julie) DeYoung, of Town and Country; John Patrick DeYoung of Mt. Vernon; and Thomas Grissom DeYoung of Des Peres; four great-grandchildren; sister Judith (Darrel) Setzer of Harrah, Okla.; a sister-in-law; along with nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she  is preceded in death by: her son, Gene Allen Grissom Jr.; sister Ruth Ellen Garringer; brothers, Charles Henry and David Lester Garringer; and a son-in-law.
Visitation was held at St. Susanne’s Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon Nov. 17th, 2019, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Funeral services was held Monday, Nov. 18th, 2019 at 10 a.m.
