Mary Margaret Buus

Mary Margaret Buus, 74, of Miller, passed away Nov. 18, 2019, at her home. She was born June 5, 1945, in Monett, to William Curtis and Anna Lucinda (Smith) Seneker.
Buus was a 1963 Miller High School graduate and an accompanist for the Miller High School music department for over 28 years. Buus was an incredibly active member of the Miller Christian Church, where she was the music director, Sunday school teacher, pianist, and organist. She was the president of the Miller Christian Service Center and a member of the Miller Lions Club. She helped with American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, in the Mt. Vernon Community Theater band, and the vice-president of the Miller Fall Festival Association. In 1964, she married Richard Michael Buus in Miller, at the Miller Christian Church.
She is survived by: her husband, of 55 years; daughter, Lucinda (David) Garringer of Miller; sons, Stephen (Sheila) Buus of Greenfield and John (Consuelo Kalea) Buus of Miller; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, John Seneker; father-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
A celebration of Margaret’s life was held at 2 p.m. Nov. 24, 2019 at the Miller Christian Church. Burial will be held at a later date at the Miller Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller.
