Mary Ruth Garringer

Mary Ruth Garringer of Elm Springs, Ark., formerly of Monett, passed away June 17, 2019.
She was born Aug. 19, 1939 in Monett, to Earl Henley and Maxine Bland Thomas. She attended Monett Schools.  In 1956 she married James Richard Garringer; he preceded her in  death in 2015. Together they had two daughters.
Garringer spent many years working for the Jumping Jack Shoe Co. in Monett in various positions with the company. Later in life she spent time working for First Baptist Church. In their early years of marriage her husband was a little league baseball coach and she happily supported him by attending the practices and cheering his team on at games. She was always a very good cook and loved cooking for the family. She loved being with all of her family and was able to cheer on a great-granddaughter at softball games and great-grandson at T-ball games.
She is survived by: daughters, Debbie (Ray) Schoon of Monett and Kathy Wormington of Elm Springs, Ark.; sister, Roberta Lea of Joplin; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held June 22, 2019, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Memorials may be made to Washington Regional Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. in her honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, 301 Euclid Ave, in Monett.
