Maurice Lance McDunner

Maurice Lance McDunner, 58, of Wentworth, passed away Dec. 22, 2018, while receiving care at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
McDunner was born Oct. 28, 1960, in Monett to the late Morris L. McDunner and the late Constance F. (Staponski) McDunner. He graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1979. During his working years, McDunner was an insurance adjuster for Tri-State Motor Transit in Duenweg, but recently, he was known to friends and family as the go to mechanic, farmer and problem solver. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and spending time outdoors. However, he greatly cherished the time spent and memories made with his family and friends.
In 1995, he married Lisa Baker at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City. To this union two children were born, Kelly Marie McDunner and Evan Maurice McDunner, both of Pierce City.
In addition to his children, he is survived by: brother, Terrence (Abigail) McDunner of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Andrea (Dan) Kristek of Monett, Connie (Matt) Moller of Billings, and Melanie McDunner of Monett; and a host of family.
Mass of Christian burial was held Dec. 28, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City. Interment followed at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Pulaskifield. Vigil service was held Dec. 27, 2018, at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett with recitation of Rosary that followed. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
