Max Raymond McBride

Max Raymond McBride, 88, of Marionville, passed away May 3, 2019, at his home. He was born March 25, 1931, in Marionville, to Arlie Brooks and Hariette Aleiever (Harlan) McBride.
McBride was a 1949 graduate of Marionville High School and a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an electrician for Fagan Electric in Joplin and was the caretaker of the Marionville IOOF Cemetery for many years. McBride was very active in the Marionville community, including being on the city council until 2012 and delivering meals on wheels for the Marionville Manor. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Marionville. In 1969, he married Ellen Jerelene “Jerry” Rimmer, in Aurora. She preceded him in death in 2017.
McBride is survived by: daughters, Lisa (Gene) Eubanks of Verona and Rowena (Albert) Hodge of Clever; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. McBride was preceded in death by: his parents, Arlie and Hariette; stepdaughter, Belinda Kay Brashers; brother, Maurice McBride; and sister, Margaret McBride.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, with burial to follow at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in the funeral home chapel.
