Mildred “Joan” Biellier

Mildred “Joan” Biellier, 89, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Aug. 15, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Pittsburg, Okla., to Orrie and Mildred (Davis) Garoutte.
Biellier was a 1946 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, was a dairy farmer and a member of the Church of God. In 1946, she married Othel Leo Biellier, in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Biellier is survived by: daughters, Linda (Larry) Richardson of Monett, Janet Kuhl of Seattle, Wash. and Reta (David) Smothers of Mt. Vernon; son, Douglas (Debra) Biellier of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha (Leroy) Orr of Miller. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Othel; son, Dean Biellier; one grandson; and three sisters, Ina Belle Harper, Louise Huser and Betty Swearingson.
A funeral service was held Aug. 20, 2019, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial followed at the Salem Cemetery, northwest of Mt. Vernon. Online condolences may be shared at www.FossettMosherFuneralHome.com.
