Mildred Imogene Hillhouse

Mildred Imogene Hillhouse, 92, of Verona, passed away Nov. 10, 2019, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield. She was born March 6, 1927, in Aurora,to Benjamin and Tressa Leona (Garrison) Lasswell.
She was the owner and operator of the Dairy Mart Drive Inn, in Aurora, from 1967–1977. She was the Circuit Clerk for Lawrence County and a member of the Aurora Assembly of God Church. In 1943, she married Lewis Hillhouse, in Aurora. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1997.
Hillhouse is survived by: daughters, Sharon Hillhouse and Shirley Hillhouse, both of Verona; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; brother, Donald (Virginia) Lasswell of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Benjamin and Tressa; husband, Lewis; sisters, Nadine Daum, Ilene Lasswell and Audrey Bigelow; and brothers, Benjamin, Richard, Gilbert, Isaac, Eldon and Earl Lasswell.
A funeral service was held Nov. 15, 2019, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora with burial that followed at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. Online condolences may be shared at www.CraftonCantrellFuneralHome.com.
