Hailee Hendricks Fury has her number retired as she receives an exhibit in her honor surrounded by family as she is inducted into the Miller Sports Hall of Fame, Friday night.

The early 2000’s was a bright time for Miller softball as they appeared in four straight Final Fours, coinciding with the legendary career of Hailee Hendricks Fury. The Lady Cardinals finished third in 2004 and 2005 before playing in the championship, but falling to Silex 4-2 in 2006. The Lady Cardinals returned in 2007 and finished fourth.
Individually, Hendricks Fury had a tremendous career for the red and white, ending her career with a .479 batting average, five home runs and 87 RBI's. In the circle, she was just as dominate tallying an impressive 1.21 ERA with 716 strikeouts, an average of 10 strikeouts per game. She earned a huge list of awards but was highlighted by four All-State selections.
After her time in Miller, she continued at Northwest Missouri State where she hit .339 with 16 home runs and 115 RBI’s and was named to the MIAA All-Conference team in 2013. She also holds the school record for doubles in a season (19 in 2013), doubles in a career (55) and slugging percentage (.585).
In 2019, she was recognized by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame as a recipient of the Diamond 9 award highlighting nine individuals from Missouri who furthered the game of baseball or softball in the state.
“It is very special and I am very honored. It was a great four years when I played and God definitely blessed me and my teammates. I couldn’t have done it without them as well and we had a great run,” Hendricks Fury said. “The ceremony was very special. It was definitely a team effort. I’m not much on the individual awards. It’s a team game and it was a good run and it's special to get to state four years in a row.”
Hendricks Fury is just the third member of the Miller Hall of Fame, joining Hannah Wilkerson’s No. 5 being retired along with John Richardson.
