On Thursday, Dec. 7, Mt. Vernon High School senior Kenadi Killingsworth signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and golf career as a State Fair Community College Roadrunner.
Killingsworth, who has been a member of the Lady Mt’neer golf team for the past four years, has had a spectacular high school career. She is a four time all-conference, all-district, and state qualifier and one time all- state golfer who not only excels on the green but also academically in the classroom. She is also a four-year Mt. Vernon varsity cheerleader.
Killingsworth, whose older brother Kaden also played golf at State Fair, says she plans to study dental hygiene.
Coach Dusty Killingsworth, who happens to also be her father, said “It meant the world to me to get to coach her for her senior year, Coach Hagerman did an outstanding job with her before. It was stressful knowing that this was it for her and wanting her to be perfect (and as we know the game of golf is far from it) but it helped that we had a good team.”
While trying to hold back his emotions at her signing, he went on to say, “she only started playing golf the summer before her freshman year, so she is still relatively young in the sport and I can’t wait to see the growth in her game up at SFCC. It’s a good spot for her as she will be pushed to become the best version of herself that she can be both on and off of the course. We have been blessed to have her play all four years and have the success that she has been able to produce. Now it’s on to bigger and better things.”
