Mt. Vernon Coquettes take third in annual Sugar Bears Invitational

The Mt. Vernon High School Coquettes performed in the Annual Sugar Bears Invitational over the weekend. The group entered the POM category and brought home third Place in the Class 1A/2A division. Junior Amari Tudor also entered in the Solo category.
“I am blown away by the team’s determination and grit. I saw a team that was respected, had fun and thoroughly enjoyed what they were doing. I am so proud of them,” said Coach Jordan Barber.
Next up the girls are putting the finishing touches on their state routine. They will be competing at state on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
