Mt. Vernon doubles team finishes 12th at state

Mt. Vernon's Lyndsey Hood finished the Class 1 State Doubles Tournament in 12th place overall, winning one of three matches. The state competition was held at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
The duo won its opening round match over Chillicothe's Hannah Cypert and Hunter Keithly 6-2, 6-1.
Mt. Vernon's second round match was against Springfield Catholic's Claire Griesemer and Ashley Andrews. The Lady Mt'neers fell 1-6, 0-6.
The final match for the Mt. Vernon doubles team was against Osage's Kylie Jean Misenheimer and Elise Maclean Davis, which Mt. Vernon lost in a tie-breaker, 6-8, 6-4, 3-10.
