Mt. Vernon falls to conference foe Reeds Spring

On a cool spring evening in Mt. Vernon, the Mt'neers fell behind 4-0 early and were unable to complete the comeback, despite scoring five sixth inning runs, falling 10-7.
Mt. Vernon put together nine hits, including a triple by Will Boswell and a double from Quinn Price, but three unearned runs spelled the difference.
Boswell drove in two runs with his triple for Mt. Vernon and Rafe Darter added three hits and three RBIs in the loss.
Quinn Price took the loss on the mound, pitching three innings and giving up eight runs, five of those earned. He struck out five and walked two.
Colby Johnston finished the final four innings, striking out seven batters to keep Mt. Vernon in the game.
The Mt'neers (7-6) will host Monett on Thursday, April 18, with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
