Mt. Vernon Police gets new breathalyzer

Mt. Vernon Chief of Police David Hubert demonstrates one of the police department’s
new preliminary breath testers (PBTs) on City Treasurer Shari Weldy during the Mt.
Vernon Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26. The department recently
purchased three PBTs which can be used to measure blood alcohol content of people
that officers suspect are driving under the influence. (Weldy’s test came back as negative
