Mt. Vernon School District names educator Jones March MVP

On Thursday, March 16, the Mt. Vernon School Board presented Courtnie Jones with the March MVP Award. Jones is a kindergarten teacher at Mt. Vernon Elementary School.
When nominating her for MVP, some of her peers said:
Mrs. Jones is an amazing teacher. She has great ideas that get her kids excited about learning and her energy spreads to her co-workers. She is a take-charge kind of person and always goes above and beyond to help those around her.
Courtnie is always willing to share her excitement for learning and create a positive learning environment. She has an infectious smile and can always find a way to have fun.
The other March MVP nominees were: Mt. Vernon Intermediate School- Stephen Martino, fourth grade; Mt. Vernon Middle School- Jennifer Eidemiller, sixth grade science; and Mt. Vernon High School - Catalina Silva, Spanish.
