Mt. Vernon schools name Ladd February MVP

On Thursday, Feb. 16, the Mt. Vernon School Board presented Lisa Ladd with the February MVP Award. Ladd is a sixth grade reading teacher at Mt. Vernon Middle School
When nominating her for MVP, some of her peers said:

Mrs. Ladd has taken on an incredibly challenging program to help our students become stronger readers, especially those who are below grade level in reading. She has put in hours of extra work to learn the system and get the program up and running, and we’re seeing excellent results.   

If you see Mrs. Ladd in the classroom, the hallway, the office, or anywhere, she will havea smile on her face. She is sweet-spirited and kind with both students and colleagues.
Mrs. Ladd will step in to help when we’re in a pinch without hesitation and with a smile on her face. She is more than willing to take one for the team.  

The other February MVP nominees were: Jennifer Lee – Title I (ELEM/ELC), Jessica White- (MVES-Para), Kendra Emerson– fourth Grade (MVIS), Tanya Hannaford – English Language Arts (MVHS), Sharla Hawks– MVIS Secretary, Mt. Vernon Christian Church- Friend of Education.
