MVHS FBLA members win big again at districts

All advance to state competition in Springfield for various events
The Mt. Vernon High School FBLA competed in the district leadership conference on Tuesday, Feb. 6. They returned with a lot of hardware; every member qualifing to advance to state in various events.
The individual results are as follows: Logan Antich- first place (Accounting II), fifth place (Business Law) and seventh place (Economics); Alyson Barnes- first place (Introduction to Business), first place (Introduction to Procedures) and first place (Introduction to Financial Math); Ayden Barnes- third place (Accounting II), fourth place (Business Law) and ninth place (Job Interview);  Audrey Bittle- third place (Accounting I), seventh place (Business Communications) and sixth place (Organizational Leadership); Hannah Bushman- third place (Business Communications) and fourth place (Marketing); Alexa Cordova- first place (Accounting I) and first place (Client Services); Kyler Cotter- sixth place (Accounting I) and second place (Business Law); Addie Hall- second place (Accounting I); Carter Meirick- sixth place (Business Calculations) and sixth place (Economics); Kiera Monroe- second place (Business Communications) and third place (Journalism); Kyleigh Nordyke- sixth place (Introduction to Public Speaking); Serenity Phelan- second place (Introduction to Business Concepts), second place (Impromptu speaking) and first place (Introduction to Business Presentation); Maddie Schubert- first place (Business Calculations) and second place (Graphic Design).
The team results are as follows: Addie Hall, Carter Meirick and Preston West- second place (Entrepreneurship); Hannah Bushman and Maddie Schubert- seventh place (Hospitality and Event Management); Alexa Cordova and Kyleigh Nordyke- first place (Sales Presentation).
Next up, the students who placed in the top 3 will advance to the State Leadership Conference which will be held April 14-16, in Springfield.
