MVHS Speech & Debate off to a big start for the new year

The Mt. Vernon High School Speech & Debate Team has been busy. On Jan. 20-21 they attended the Webb City Varsity Winter Invite and on Feb. 3-4 they attended the Big 8 Tourney at Reeds Spring High School. The results are as follows:
Webb City Winter Invite:
Evelyn Jones- Semifinalist (Original Oratory)
Big 8 Conference Tourney:
Briton Szydloski- Conference Champion (Lincoln-Douglas Debate)
Emma Tobey and Dhruti Patel- Quarter Finalists (Public Forum Debate)
Briton Szydloski- Second overall (Humorous Interpretation)
