Oren Albert Fritz

Oren Albert Fritz, 83, of Weldon Spring, passed away Aug. 15, 2019 at Breeze Park Lutheran Care Center following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.
Fritz was born Nov. 27, 1935 in Monett, the son of Albert and Dora (Doss) Fritz. He grew up on a farm north of Monett and attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Monett High School in 1954. He married Carolyn E. Kleiboeker on Sept. 15, 1956, and they were blessed with a daughter, Rachel.
Fritz was an entrepreneur, where he worked countless hours in their family businesses. He managed Fritz Brothers Oil Co with co-owners Erwin and Nelda Fritz. In 1980, he started Fritz Implement of Monett with their daughter and son-in-law, Robert Mais, where he retired from in 2000. Above all else, he was a man of faith and a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt. He took pleasure in singing in the Men’s Glee and the Freistatt Spielers and was an accomplished harmonica player that started as a child with his sister Melba and continued in numerous church services, weddings, including that of his grandsons and at nursing homes. He recorded his music in Branson. He was a longtime member of the Monett Lions Club and served as the Missouri Lions District Governor 1974-75.
Fritz is survived by: daughter, Rachel (Robert) Mais of Wildwood; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and two sister-in-laws.
Visitation was held Aug. 18, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt and the service followed. Interment followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
