Paul Nelson Parrish

Paul Nelson Parrish, 92, of Wentworth, passed away Aug. 13, 2019 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.  Parrish was born in Aldrich, Sept. 16, 1926. He was the son of Albert and Georgia (Ridenour) Parrish.
He was married to Ola Belle and she survives. Parrish served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Seaman 1st Class. He worked as a repeaterman for Southwestern Bell for many years. Parrish attended Mt. Vernon Christian Church. He went to Haiti 23 different times working with Salonique Adolphe and Living Water Christian Mission. He made it a habit to read from the Bible each morning. He had read through the Bible multiple times. Parrish enjoyed hunting, wood carving, cutting firewood, and reloading ammo.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Ola Belle of the home; son, Jim Parrish of El Dorado, Ark.; daughters, Vickie Lynn DeArmond of Joplin and Linda Hicks of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He also lost a son, John, in 1990.
Funeral services were held Aug. 16, 2019. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Grove. Arrangements were entrusted to the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
