Pedestrian struck, killed on rural Law. Co. road

On Friday March 15, 2019 a fatal incident occurred on County Road 2140, three miles north of Freistatt when a 1997 Ford Ranger driven by Grant Jester, 28, of Stotts City struck a pedestrian who was walking in the traffic lane. The pedestrian was Corey Jones, 37, of Monett. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
As required by law, Jester was tested for alcohol. As of press time, test results had not been made public.
