Praline Biscuits

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Praline Biscuits by Twila Treece

36 pecan halves
1/2 cup butter, divided
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar, divided
1 T. cinnamon, divided
2 cups buttermilk baking mix
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup applesauce

Preheat oven to 200°. Place 3 pecan halves, 2 tsp. butter, 2 tsp. brown sugar, and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon in each cup of a 12-cup muffin pan. Place muffin pan in over just long enough for the butter to melt.

While waiting for the butter to melt, combine the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl. Beat for 20 strokes. Remove the muffin pan from the oven. Turn the oven temperature up to 450°. Spoon the batter into the muffin cups. Bake for 10 minutes. Invert onto serving plate.
