Ralph Smart

Ralph Smart, 79, of Republic, passed away Dec. 30, 2018. Smart was born July 30, 1939, in Stone County, to Benjamin Harrison and Clara Marie (Barton) Smart. Smart was married to Helen in 1958, in Aurora.
Smart was a member of Republic First Baptist Church since 1972. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Dayco with 40 years of service. He loved sports, outdoors, and most of all, his grand and great-grandchildren.
Smart is survived by: sons, Rick (Joanna) Smart, Kevin (Tammy) Smart; sisters, Berthena Wimberley and Ruth Hopkins; brother, Jim Smart; four granddaughters; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; all from Marionville.
Funeral services were held Jan. 2, 2019, in the First Baptist Church, 305 N. Main Ave., Republic, under the care of Meadors Funeral Home. Burial was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
