Raymond Coon

Raymond Coon, 92, of Marionville, formerly of Kimberling City, passed away Nov. 3, 2018. He was born Oct. 19, 1926 to Harmon Julian and Amy (Pack) Coon in Lovelady, Texas.
Coon had been very active in the community when living in Kimberling City. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a lay minister. He was also a member of the American Legion, a Kimberling City alderman, and a hospice volunteer. During his working career he was a Communications Manager for Mobil Oil Company. Coon was a recipient of the Jefferson Award for Southwest Missouri. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy.
Survivors include: sons, Steve (Beth) Coon of Neosho and Roger (Edwina) Coon of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Mary Coon of Chicago, Ill. and Barbara (Dan) Perry of Chicago, Ill.; half brother, Malone Green; two grandsons; and a host of other family and friends. Coon was preceded in death by: his wife, Frances; his parents; step-father, Hubert Green; and brother, Jack Coon.
Memorial services were held Nov. 13, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville. Burial was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville, or to Season’s Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City.
