Red, White & BOOM to be held for 20th year, this Friday

Young and old alike are welcome to attend Mt. Vernon’s 20th annual Independence Day celebration, Red, White & BOOM, which will take place Friday, July 1, at the Spirit of ‘76 Park.
Festivities will begin with free laser tag at 6 p.m. There will be no free swim this year since the city pool is currently under construction.
Entertainment will once again be provided by DJ Will on the stage.
Community members are invited to come and enjoy concessions or bring picnics of their own.
The weather outlook is favorable with the high in the low 90’s but cooling down towards the evening hours. Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. No rain date is scheduled for this event.
Free admission to all.
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk.
