Richard Allan Woods

Richard Allan Woods, 59, of Monett, passed away April 5, 2019, while at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Woods was born Aug. 17, 1959, in Aurora to the late Jesse James Woods and Shirley Mae (Haddock) Woods. He graduated from Watts High School in Watts, Okla. with the class of 1977. He had worked for many years at Journagan’s True Value in Aurora and later at Race Brothers in Monett. Woods enjoyed wood working and gardening, of which he would generally give away the fruits of his labor. In 1988, he married Deborah Lynn Waggoner in Monett.
Woods is survived by: his wife; son, Chris (Gretchen) Hartman of Linn Valley, Kan.; daughter, Doris (Joshua) Robinson of Siloam Springs, Ark.; brothers, Sam (Tammy) Woods of Pierce City and Jamie Woods, of Hoberg; sisters, Barbara McVickers of Monett and Carol (Charlie) Estes of Stotts City; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Frank Woods; and sister, Teresa Woods.
Funeral services were held April 7, 2019, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Interment followed at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
