Robert Sidney Kingrey

Robert Sidney Kingrey, 67 of Monett, passed away Nov. 23, 2019 in Springfield.
Kingrey was born Oct. 2, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He attended Columbus High School in Columbus, Ohio. Later in life he attended Crowder College in Neosho. At the age of 17 Kingrey joined the United States Army. He served two tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne as a Huey Crew Chief and door gunner. He rounded out his six-year active duty career in Korea as a U-H1 Huey Helicopter Mechanic. In 1977 he married Connie Leah Barnes. Together they raised four children, Travis, Patrick, Crystal and Leah. Kingrey drove truck across the United States. After 10 years he began employment as part of the service crew of Hudson’s foods which became Select Genetics. Not long after, he was promoted to farm manager. After 20 years he assumed the role of a grow out supervisor. He retired in 2018, after working for the same company for 32 years.
Kingrey is survived by: his wife of the home; son, Travis (Ann) Kingrey of Monett; son, Patrick (Melissa) Kingrey of Aurora; daughter Crystal Kingrey of Monett and Leah (Shane) Borgman of Republic; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in Monett. Details will be disclosed at a later date. His arrangements have been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield.
