Semi driver loses his Kool-Aid, demolishes rig on I-44

During the early morning hours on Friday, May 22, a tractor trailer carrying packaged Kool-Aid wrecked on I-44 just one mile west of Mt. Vernon, near mile marker 44. The incident occurred when Darsso P. Gache, 32, of Lewisville, Texas ran off the road and struck a guardrail and a bridge support. Darsso was wearing a seatbelt and received serious injuries. The event and pictures were Tweeted out by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
“When the Kool-Aid man intentionally crashed through the wall we weren’t worried about someone getting hurt, but when this tractor trailer of Kool-Aid ran off the road someone DID get hurt and it was avoidable! Slow down and pay attention,” the tweet read. (Photos by Missouri State Highway Patrol.)
